A lesson on a descending lick in the key of G inspired by Charles Sawtelle, known as the “Bluegrass Mystery”, who was the original guitarist from the bluegrass band HotRize. Charles Sawtelle’s is known for his smooth and fluid attack, and playing a Martin D-45 dreadnought. After Sawtelle’s passing in 1999, guitarist Bryan Sutton joined HotRize for their return to performance, touring, and recording. In 2012, a memorial bench was dedicated in his honor with an inscription that read “Never Turn Anything All the Way Up”.
