This great tune has been played many times over the years by many different artists and in this lesson, I cover the Jerry Garcia intro and melody out of the open E position. I also include two flatpicking versions, a basic melodic arrangement out of the capo 4 position and more advanced flatpicking melody with flavors of Billy Strings and Doc Watson! Arrange this tune to your liking and learn how to play the same melody in different positions on the neck. We’ll also look at both chord structures and bluegrass rhythm concepts.
