A lesson on the classic old-time fiddle tune “John Hardy”. In this lesson, I wanted to explore the backbeat feel that is central to bluegrass style music. We’ll be looking at the Doc Watson style version, taking an in-depth look at the A part, B part and the Rhythm for this classic tune. This tune is in the key of G and uses an A-B form but the B part is actually 6 measures long, making the melody a total of 10 measures. This is one of the all-time classic fiddle tunes and a great one to have in your repertoire.
